As we approach the Season of Creation 2026, the Episcopal Conference of the Pacific (CEPAC) invites all dioceses across our region to unite in prayer, reflection, and action for our common home.

Following the recent pastoral letter from Archbishop Ryan Jimenez, President of CEPAC, all faithful, parishes, and communities are invited to participate fully in this year’s observance.

Key Dates & Liturgical Celebrations

The Season of Creation will be observed worldwide from 1 September to 4 October 2026.

• Opening Mass: Tuesday, 1 September 2026

• Closing Mass: Sunday, 4 October 2026 (Feast of St. Francis of Assisi)

Mass for the Care of Creation

The liturgy to be celebrated on the opening and closing days is the newly promulgated Mass for the Care of Creation, approved by Pope Leo XIV. The following texts are available:

To support your diocesan and parish celebrations, special liturgical and devotional resources have been gathered with the assistance of Fr. Bernard McKenna:

• Via Creationis – “The Way of Creation” (Chemin de Création): Developed by the Laudato Si’ Movement, this devotion is designed to be prayed once each week during the Season of Creation, similar to the Via Crucis (Stations of the Cross) during Lent. Dioceses are encouraged to freely adapt Via Creationis to suit local pastoral traditions and needs.
