With profound sadness, we share the news of the passing of His Excellency Monsignor Novatus Rugambwa, former Apostolic Nuncio to New Zealand and Oceania. He returned to the House of the Father in Rome, after a long illness borne with great faith and patience.
In a letter to the Bishops of New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, His Excellency, Most Rev. Gabor Pinter, the Apostolic Nuncio, shared this news and asked for our prayers.
Please join us in commending the soul of this generous and faithful servant to the mercy of God. We pray for his eternal rest and for comfort for all those who mourn his loss.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
