(CEPAC, Suva, Fiji) – The Episcopal Conference of the Pacific (CEPAC, Conferentia Episcopalis Pacifici) has appointed the Reverend Father Okusitino ULUPANO, SM, as Interim Rector of the Pacific Regional Seminary of St. Peter Chanel in Suva, Fiji.
With the appointment of Fr. Simon Mani, MSC, as the Bishop-elect of Tarawa and Nauru, his term as Rector of PRS ends. Through the recommendation of the Permanent Council of CEPAC members and the bishop-members of the PRS Senate, the current Vice-Rector assumes the role of Interim Rector of PRS.
Father Okusitino, known as “Fr. Tino” to the PRS Seminary community, has been with PRS since 2012. He served as moderator, lecturer, and pastoral year coordinator before he was appointed Vice-Rector in 2019. He was ordained priest in 1999 and served in Papua New Guinea after ordination until 2008.
Fr. Tino obtained a Licentiate in Sacred Theology on Missiology at the Santo Tomas University in the Philippines.
Fr. Tino takes this role as the Interim Rector of PRS until the Congregation for Evangelization appoints a permanent Rector for PRS.
