Students of Guam’s Catholic Schools had important roles during the May 19, 2026 Mass for the Evangelization of Peoples celebrated by Archbishop Ryan with six concelebrating bishops from Oceania and 18 priests. Archbishop Peter Loy Chong, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Fiji was the homilist for the May 19, 2026 Mass. He spoke of the beautiful local CHamoru concept of inafa’maolek, which he learned means to have right relationships. to care for each other and to restore harmony.
“That relationship is the prime value that we have and to seek always, the common good.” He tied inafa’maolek to our Christian faith. “Beautiful word,” Archbishop Peter said. “And if this word was really explained it could bring together the heart and the core of Christianity.”
