The Episcopal Conference of the Pacific (CEPAC) is filled with joy and immense pride to announce that our President, Archbishop Ryan P. Jimenez, has been chosen by Pope Leo XIV to serve as a member of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communication.

The Holy See officially shared the news in its bulletin on April 9, 2026. Archbishop Ryan joins a distinguished group of 12 faithful servants of the Church—including Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle—called to shepherd the Church’s voice in the modern era and share the light of the Gospel with the world.

The Dicastery for Communication is recognized as the Vatican’s largest department by personnel. Since 2019, all Vatican media operations have been integrated under this single, robust structure. It coordinates and unifies the Holy See’s entire communications network while respecting their distinct functions, including:
• The Central News Hub & Holy See Press Office
• Vatican Radio & Television
• L’Osservatore Romano (The Vatican’s daily newspaper)
• The Printing Press & Vatican Publishing House
• The Photographic Service

Beyond its operational responsibilities, the Dicastery develops the theological and pastoral dimensions of the Church’s work in communications. It ensures that the Word of God is shared effectively through digital media, innovation, and emerging technologies, directly serving the mission of global evangelization.
Archbishop Ryan will continue to serve in his vital roles as the Archbishop of Agaña and the President of CEPAC while contributing his wisdom to the Dicastery in Rome.

Please join us in offering our prayers and heartfelt congratulations to Archbishop Ryan as he takes on this historic responsibility in service to the Holy Father!
